The elegance of the chosen wine BEST AGED RED WINE by the Gourmets Wine Guide 2025, becomes a great ally for facing the changes of autumn. This red wine has the ability to evoke the autumn sunsets of its terroir located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
With 90% of tempranillo y 10% cabernet sauvignon, its production reflects the expertise of Beatriz Rodero, technical director and winemaker at the winery, which her father, Carmelo Rodero, turned into one of the most emblematic estates in Ribera del Duero. Carmelo instilled in his daughters, Beatriz and María, a love for their land, which they continue with renewed enthusiasm and passion.
The aromas of ripe red fruits and spices reveal the character of the vineyard, which Beatriz's expert hand knows how to extract. The well-integrated notes from its 15-month ageing in French oak barrels add complexity without detracting an iota of freshness.
About Bodegas Carmelo Rodero
To speak of Bodegas Carmelo Rodero is to speak of the lifelong passion of an entire family, the dream that one day drove Carmelo Rodero to found this winery in Pedrosa de Duero, Burgos, in 1991, and which has become a benchmark for quality within the Ribera del Duero Denominación de Origen. That same dream now inspires his daughters, Beatriz and María, who with renewed enthusiasm carry on the mission of extracting the most genuine fruit from their terroir.
The vineyards of Bodegas Rodero grow at an altitude of 890 metres above sea level across several selected plots, a total of 170 hectares with different intrinsic virtues from each microclimate. This geographical diversity is key in the creation of wines with the hallmark of the terroir, which allows the fruit to express itself clearly and with marked freshness, following the philosophy of its technical director and oenologist Beatriz Rodero.
