Life in the Field
Carmelo Rodero's life has been linked to the countryside since the 1960s. Focused on caring for his vineyards, this young winegrower decided to start making wine in 1991, in his hometown, Pedrosa de Duero.
A unique enclave guarded by the Cuesta Manvirgo in which the clay soils and northern winds produce grapes with a unique acidity. Each harvest reflects this family complicity: the wisdom learned in the shelter of the old vines and the creative energy of those who look to the future with respect for the land.

The Legacy of Quality
The commitment to their wines in 1991 was always supported by his wife Elena. Together they committed to the future and to quality. All this effort and pursuit of excellence have been rewarded with national and international awards for each of the wines produced since then by Bodegas Rodero.
A new generation has joined this exciting project, Beatriz and Maria, the two daughters of Carmelo and Elena. They have inherited their parents' passion, ensuring that the essence and respect for the land endure over time.

Together, the Rodero sisters are in charge of one of the most renowned wineries in the designation of origin, which currently sells 80 percent of its annual production in Spain and exports the remaining 20 percent to international markets, with a primary presence in Hispanic America.

Carmelo Rodero has passed on his passion for the land, his meticulous way of caring for the vineyard and its fruit, to his daughter Beatriz, technical director of the winery since 2008. She trained in Agricultural Engineering and later expanded her knowledge in Bordeaux, where she obtained the National Diploma in Oenology.
Saint-Émilion, Napa Valley and South Africa are some of the places where he has perfected his craft, an experience that broadened his oenological horizons. This, combined with his technical leadership skills, provides the formula needed for the present and future of this exciting project.

The wines from Bodegas Carmelo Rodero have undergone a remarkable evolution since the first vintage in which Beatriz took the reins of winemaking in 2007. If Carmelo previously set the style according to his own character, Beatriz has left her own mark: labels with a greater fruit presence, a more subdued use of oak and plot-by-plot vinification to bring out the uniqueness of each soil.
His focus is directed towards the raw material and terroir, with the primary objective of creating wines of excellent quality, elegant, with more freshness and less structure, in tune with the evolution of today's consumer tastes.

The executive hand steering the family dream is María, who joined the project in 2013 as commercial director.
After graduating in Business Administration and Management and gaining valuable professional experience in the banking sector, both in Spain and in English-speaking countries, María brings a fundamental strategic and global vision for the expansion and consolidation of the brand in the current market.
