Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2018 achieves the highest score, 99 points, in the Global Wine competition, organised by El Conocedor magazine. A double gold medal awarded to wines that stand out for their high quality.
This competition has the objective of obtaining increasingly precise scores; consequently, it formed a tasting panel exclusively with technical profiles. Five Mexican winemakers: Cristina Pino – winemaker at Bodegas Santo Tomás; Lluis Raventos – winemaker at Freixenet; Oscar Gaona – winemaker at Monte Xanic; Alberto Verdeja – winemaker at Bodegas Domecq; Paco Rodríguez – winemaker at Casa Madero, and a special guest from Spain, Vicente Sotés, PhD agricultural engineer and professor emeritus of Viticulture at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2018 stands out by achieving the highest score among the labels presented. A multi-varietal of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, originating from the estate's own vineyards of over 30 years old. The perfect harmony between ripe fruit and 21 months of ageing in French oak barrels makes this reference so special for the palate.
The new vintage of Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2019 arrives on the market next November, and many professionals already vouch for its high quality.
