Carmelo Rodero Crianza is, above all, a special wine. A different wine, conceived for sharing and for celebrating unique moments. Behind every bottle lies more than two decades of experience crafting a Crianza that has managed to win over both experts and lovers of good wine, to the point of being recognised as Best Crianza Wine according to the prestigious Gourmets Guide, a milestone that endorses his career and his constant pursuit of excellence.

With the vintage 2023, this iconic wine also debuts a new label that elegantly reflects its identity: sober, contemporary and deeply linked to the Ribera del Duero. A renewed image that accompanies a content that keeps its essence intact, but evolves with subtlety, as great wines do over time.

An origin expressed without artifice

From the heart of Pedrosa de Duero, with a tradition rooted in the land and an absolute respect for the vineyard, Carmelo Rodero Crianza displays, without masks, the virtues of its terroir. The continental climate, marked by cold winters, dry summers and a notable temperature range between day and night, favours excellent grape ripening and a high concentration of polyphenols and aromatic compounds. The result is wines of intense colour, firm tannins and a ripe, deep and velvety fruit.

When opening a bottle of Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2023, memories of black forest fruits appear, along with the aromatic elegance and persistence that characterise the great wines of the Ribera del Duero. Power and finesse merge in perfect balance, with a silky structure that invites you to enjoy it sip by sip.

A composition that brings greater complexity

The 2023 vintage introduces a differential nuance compared to previous harvests. While Tempranillo remains the soul of the wine, with a 90% – Composition, a is incorporated 10%, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Albillo Mayor, bringing greater aromatic complexity, palate weight and a subtle layer of nuances that enrich its profile without blurring its identity.

Tasting notes

View: Deep cherry red with violet hues, reflecting its youth and remarkable potential for ageing in the bottle.

Nose: Ample and expressive, dominated by ripe red and black fruit (plums, blackberries), accompanied by elegant spiced notes and delicate balsamic hints.

Mouth Silky and enveloping attack, with a balanced palate where the fruitiness of the Tempranillo harmonises with the complexity brought by the complementary varieties. Long and persistent finish, with polished tannins and well-integrated acidity that augurs excellent ageing potential.

Gravity winemaking: tradition and innovation

The purity and finesse that define Carmelo Rodero Crianza are also the result of a unique winemaking system. In 2004, Carmelo Rodero developed a patented gravity winemaking rotating system, designed to minimise grape handling. Instead of moving the fruit to the vats by pumping, the vats themselves are moved towards the grapes, preserving the integrity of the berry, preventing unnecessary oxidation and respecting aromas and flavours to the utmost. This combination of traditional know-how and technological innovation results in wines of great precision and elegance.

A wine to discover… and to experience

The new label of Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2023 is an invitation to rediscover a classic that continues to evolve with consistency and personality. An authentic, spontaneous wine deeply rooted in its origin, which is presented today with a renewed image, in keeping with its prestige and future outlook.
